Following Ohio State's first loss of the season, plenty of people wanted to throw in the towel on the Evan Turner at point guard experiment. However, head coach Thad Matta viewed the situation like he does all situations he encounters: with a long-term approach that is rubbing off on his players.

After not seeing the court during Ohio State's previous two games against North Carolina and California, sophomore guard Walter Offutt has chosen to pursue a transfer from the school and has left the team. Ohio State head coach Thad Matta announced the decision Tuesday morning ahead of this evening's game against Lipscomb.

M got on the board with a field goal and the Buckeyes responded with an 80-yard drive, capped by Brandon Saine's 29-yard TD run with 5:22 to play in the half.
