It was no secret the Ohio State football team was understaffed, if you will, while playing uneven football in its opening win vs. Buffalo. That clearly wasn't the case in the win against San Diego State, though, as the returns of several important players helped the Buckeyes dominate.

The national college football polls have returned to their normal Sunday morning release, and today's delivery was some bad news for Ohio State, which dropped in both the AP and coaches' polls despite its dominating 42-7 win Saturday vs. San Diego State.

Ohio State backup quarterback Kenny Guiton relieved an injured Braxton Miller early in the first quarter and turned in a career performance, leading the Buckeyes to a 42-7 rout of nonconference rival San Diego State. Guiton completed 19 of 28 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns, and added 83 yards and another score on the ground.
