New Years Day Bowl Games : Ohio State, Florida State and Penn State All Bring Home Wins
Posted by: osugrad21.2 - 01-04-2010, 09:13 PM - Forum: Buckeye Football - No Replies

Ohio State was the big underdog winner on New Years Day. Ohio State beat Oregon 26-17. Joe Paterno and Penn State overcame the elements and a late LSU rally to win their game 19-17. LSU again looked inept trying to get in position for the game winning field goal.

Posted by: osugrad21.2 - 01-04-2010, 09:13 PM - Forum: Buckeye Football - No Replies

Let's face it, the Rose Bowl had become stagnant. As impressive as USC's run of winning seven consecutive Pacific-10 titles and playing in five out of the past six Rose Bowls was, it's nice to see the end of Troy.

  Silver Bullets Finished Like Champions

So it was only fitting the Buckeyes shut down Oregon's hyped offense in the Rose Bowl, capping off perhaps the best season of Jim Heacock's five standout years.
