  BSB Midseason Gradebook: OSU Defense
Posted by: osugrad21.2 - 10-19-2009, 02:03 PM - Forum: Buckeye Football - No Replies

Grading the Ohio State defense would seem to be an easy thing to do, but the Buckeye players and coaches give a different impression entirely. No matter what they say, at the halfway point, there is plenty of evidence to indicate Ohio State is having another stellar season on that side of the ball.

Hockey Buckeyes Dump Nation's No. 3 Team
Posted by: osugrad21.2 - 10-19-2009, 02:03 PM - Forum: Buckeye Football - No Replies

A nightmare start to the 2009-10 hockey season turned around for Ohio State on Friday night in Nationwide Arena. The Buckeyes kept the pressure on No. 3 Denver, got a lucky goal early and then played for 60 minutes on the way to a 4-0 win. Cal Heeter made 39 saves and earned his first career shutout as OSU improved to 1-3 on the year.

  Pressured Offense Slumbered Too Long
Posted by: osugrad21.2 - 10-19-2009, 02:03 PM - Forum: Buckeye Football - No Replies

For the second week in a row, the Ohio State offense was far short of world-beater status, and part of the reason was that the opposing team's defensive line – led by a possible All-Big Ten end – spent much of the game in the backfield. Sacks and pressure killed OSU as Purdue upset the Buckeyes on Saturday.

For Once, OSU DL Couldn't Save Day
Posted by: osugrad21.2 - 10-19-2009, 02:03 PM - Forum: Buckeye Football - No Replies

All season long, the Ohio State defense has attributed its success to a dominant front four that has kept opposing offensive lines and quarterbacks from getting into a rhythm. But on Saturday, Purdue was the one keeping OSU off-balance at times. The Buckeyes got just one sack as QB Joey Elliott engineered an upset win for the Boilermakers.
